Plane

Canberra International Airport (CBR)
Information on transport to and from the airport, including car hire.

Qantas
Daily direct services from Canberra to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Virgin Australia
Daily direct services from Canberra to Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Coach

Greyhound Australia
Daily services from Canberra to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide, as well as other services Australia-wide.

Murray's Australia
Return express services between Canberra and Sydney. One return service daily between Canberra and Wollongong via Moss Vale. Daily return service between Canberra and the South Coast.

Rail

CountryLink
Countrylink offers three rail services daily from Sydney to Canberra. A daily service from Canberra to Cootamundra connects with the XPT to Melbourne and other coach services at Cootamundra. Canberra Link (V/Line) is a daily rail/coach link from Melbourne to Canberra via Wodonga. Capital Link (V/Line) operates two services a week rail/coach from Melbourne to Canberra (via Gippsland, Bairnsdale, Lakes Entrance and Cooma).

Car

From Sydney - Direct driving route: 3 hours
Leave via the M5 tollway, connecting to Hume Highway 31. Turn off after Goulburn on to the Federal Highway.

From Melbourne - Direct driving route: 7 hours
Follow the City Link tollway to the Western Ring Road, connecting to the Hume Highway. Near Yass, take the Barton Highway turn off to Canberra.

From Adelaide - Direct driving route: 12 hours
Take the South Eastern freeway towards the Mallee Highway and Sturt Highway. At Yass, take the Barton Highway turn off to Canberra.

From Brisbane - Direct driving route: 16 hours
Follow the Pacific Highway south to Sydney then take the Hume Highway to Goulburn, turning on to the Federal Highway to Canberra.
