- All prize money is guaranteed.
- Players are not eligible to win more than one prize from the list.
- Unrated players are only eligible to receive the unrated prize in the minor division.
Under 1200's Prizes
The Under 1200's is supported by the Mind Games Albury and Canberra stores. Trophies
will be given to the top three place getters. Additionally the following gift vouchers
will be given as prizes. These gift vouchers are for use in the Canberra or Albury stores.
- 1st - $160
- 2nd - $120
- 3rd - $80
- 4th - $40
- Biggest Upset - $50
- Best Unrated - $50
Fighting Chess Fund
In 2009 Round 9 of the Premier Tournament will include a Fighting Chess Fund valued at $1000.
- Eligibility runs down to the last board with a player who has a score equal to the lowest score on board four.
- Winners on eligible boards in Round 9 equally share the Fund.
- Surplus prize money will be allocated at the organisers discretion.
- Players are only eligible to participate in the Fighting Fund if they have not recorded a draw in less than 30 moves for the tournament.
Additional Awards
- Medallions will be awarded based on FIDE tie breaks for the rating brackets in each tournament
as well as best local and best junior.
- The top three place getters in the Under 1200's will receive free entry to their eligible
long tournament for 2010.
- In the event for a tie for trophies the winner will be decided on a countback of scores.
